April 29, 2018 - My "new" fishing boat!
August 21, 2017 - A friend and I headed down to southern Illinois today to be in the path of totality to view and photograph the solar eclipse.
May 9, 2016 - Mercury transited the sun today, and I photographed it with a solar filter on my 800mm lens.
May 8, 2016 - I finally went out to Horicon Marsh, along Highway 49, to photograph the White-faced Ibis, that has been there for about two weeks now.
August 12, 2015 - Three immature Green Herons in Horicon Marsh NWR, catching frogs and minnows.
June 11 and 12, 2015 - A cross-bred Wooping Crane/Sandhill Crane, and its parents, A family of Trumpeter Swans, and a family of Sandhill Cranes, in, and around Horicon Marsh NWR, WI.
September 16, 2014 - An early fall trip to Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary while burning up some vacation.
August 16, 2014 - A friend and I went to a pond along Mascoutin Trail, about seven miles north of Ripon, WI, where a group of White-faced Ibeses have been hanging out since mid-June. Also got an unusual shot of a Snipe, and a nicely perched Green Heron.
May 25, 2014 - I went to Wendy's house, just outside of Kewaskum, Wisconsin, and got a couple good birds in the blossoming Apple Tree.
March 9, 2014 - A Snowy Owl just outside of Waupun, Wisconsin!
October 22, 2013 - My latest trip to Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary in West Bend. I go this time of year for the full racks on most of the animals, but on this trip, the bonus was a pair of wild foxes hanging around the sanctuary, including a white-phase red fox!
January 22, 2013 - I recently identified a "giant" wasp, that I photographed four years ago, and a small, but
colorful spider, from two years ago. Click this text to see them at the top of my "Insect Page"
October 21, 2012 - Another trip to Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary, in the Fall, when the deer and elk, are sporting "full head gear."
July, 2012 - A couple here in Waupun, WI, had about a dozen juvenile Screech owls in their
yard every night, for over four weeks. They most likely fledged from a nest in a half-dead tree in their backyard.
June 11, 2012 - The two Loon eggs in Eagle River hatched on June 6th and 8th. I was there
on June 8th, 9th, and 10th.
June 5, 2012 - Today, Venus went across, or "trasited" the sun, for the last time, visible from Earth,
for 105 years.
May 1, 2012 - My third trip to Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bend, WI, looking for the new fawns,
baby elk, and bison.
May 1, 2012 - I took my second trip to Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bend, WI, on opening day,
mainly to check out the new wolf exhibit.
March 22, 2012 - Click here to watch the northern migration of the Ruby-throated

Mar 17, 2012 - I've never been real big on photographing captive animals, but for photographing animals that are not normally found here in
central and southern Wisconsin, I want to start going to zoos, and especially back to Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary, in West Bend, Wisconsin, to see,
and photograph, their new wolf exhibit.
Mar 17, 2012 - I plan to make many more trips than in the past, to Olbrich Botanical Gardens, in Madison, Wisconsin, for butterflies and other
insects, and the incredible variety of flowers that I can find them on there.
Mar 17, 2012 - After raising Praying Mantises last spring and summer, this spring, I plan to purchase a Rose Hair Tarantula! Also, rather than
purchasing several Praying Mantis egg cases, I will be getting ONE Praying Mantis from a friend, who currently has five newly hatched
ones. She is currently feeding them fruit flies, but I want to wait until they molt once, when they can handle something as big as a house fly.
March 15, 2012 - I took an early trip to Marsh Haven Nature Center to see what was showing up in this unseasonably warm weather.
Feb 28, 2012 - I finally put together this Blog Page on my website! Any earlier postings below, are put together by memory.
Jan 9, 2012 - I finally bought my first point-and-shoot camara, to always have with me when I don't feel like lugging around my bigger, more expensive
camera, and big lenses. It's a Canon PowerShot SX40 HS, which not only has the telephoto that I'm used to, but it also shoots High definition video, in stereo!
NOV 4, 2011 - I took my first trip to Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bend, WI
OCT 3, 2011 - I purchased my dream car!
