1975 383 Big Block Duster

I bought this '75 Duster in California in 1985, about a year before I got out of the Marine Corps. The guy I bought it from had already taken out the 90 horsepower 225cid 6 cylinder, and replaced it with a 400 horsepower high performance big block V8, a 383 magnum, out of a '68 Roadrunner. He also had a rear spoiler on it from a '70 Cuda. The crank-open moon roof was original equipment.

When I had the car back home (Random Lake at the time), my brother, Jim, who was getting into body work, and costom painting, wanted to paint it, using the body lines. I was hesitant, but eventually said yes. No regrets there.

In the spring of '87, with my '86 tax return, I replaced the Edlebrock "Torquer" intake manifold, and Holly 750cfm carburetor, with a tunnel ram intake, and two Carter Competition 500's (downjetted to 450's).

I owned this car from '85 to '95. When I decided to sell it, my next oldest brother, Ron, in Michigan, found a car dealer with a separate lot, full of cars like this, and I eventually sold it to them.

This is how it looked when I first bought it (with the California plates still on it).
